This means it doesn’t matter how much you tell someone to love their neighbor, they will never truly be able to embrace that on their own.
The only way we can love our neighbor is by knowing Jesus. The only way we can actually bring change is by knowing Jesus.
Why? Because ‘love your neighbor’ has room for interpretation. But ‘lay down your life like Christ laid down His’ leaves no room for doubt.
It’s not about being a ‘good person.’ It’s about being transformed by Christ’s love.
