About Me

Rev. Fr. Aaron L. Solberg: Harmonizing Music and Ministry

With a passionate dedication to both music and spiritual leadership, Rev. Fr. Aaron L. Solberg has forged a unique path that harmonizes these two callings. His diverse journey has taken him from the stage as an accomplished cellist and artistic director to the pulpit as an Anglican priest ministering to indigenous communities in Canada’s North.

Music has been a constant thread woven through Fr. Aaron’s life. He co-founded and directed the River Ensemble and Music at the Barn Concert Series in New York while serving as a musical director from 2011-2014. In Germany from 2014-2019, he continued performing with the Spa Orchestra DaCapo as a first cellist while also providing artistic direction and private music instruction to youth and adult orchestras.

Alongside this active musical career, Fr. Aaron felt a deepening call towards ministry. He obtained an A.A. in Theology from Franciscan University in 2018-2019 before earning his B.A. in Theology with a focus on youth ministry and catechesis in 2022. His studies included training at seminaries like St. Paul’s House of Formation on church planting and the Greenhouse Movement within the Anglican tradition.

This powerful confluence of music and spirituality came to life in Fr. Aaron’s roles as a deacon and priest. From 2020-2023, he served as the Deacon in Charge of St. Aidan’s Anglican Parish in Baker Lake, Nunavut, providing steady pastoral care while delivering youth programs, leadership development, and community crisis response. His efforts nurtured the spiritual and emotional wellbeing of an indigenous community weathering profound grief and trauma.

Currently, Fr. Aaron serves as the Priest in Charge of St. John’s Anglican Church in Fort Smith, Northwest Territories. In this role, he conducts worship services, offers counseling, organizes outreach initiatives, and guides his vibrant congregation’s spiritual growth – all while striving to embody Christ’s teachings of compassion, healing, and unity.

With an educational journey that includes Jewish pre-college ministerial studies and is continuing with life coaching certification, Fr. Aaron brings a rich tapestry of experiences to his vocation. Whether uplifting voices in song or tending to spiritual needs, he harmonizes diverse notes into one transcendent ministry dedicated to strengthening communities.
